The City of Glendale will host its annual Cesar Chavez Commemorative Event on Saturday, March 27, from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Pacific Community Center and Park, 501 S. Pacific Avenue. The event is free and the public is encouraged to attend.
This year’s keynote speaker will be Dr. Fernando J. Guerra, Director of the Center for the Study of Los Angeles. Dr. Guerra is also a professor at Loyola Marymount University in the departments of Chicano studies and political science.
There will also be a wide variety of entertainment at this year’s event including:
Mariachi Fiesta de Jalisco
The Chico Band
Alex La Torre
Flamenco Dancers
Students from Pacific Edison and Cerritos Elementary Schools
There will also be children’s games and activities. A free chicken and carne asada lunch will be served from 1 pm to 2:30 pm. In case of rain the event will be moved into the campus auditorium. For additional information, please contact Zizette Mullins, 548-4844.
