The Stepping Stone Players, Glendale’s resident community theatre company, is celebrating its tenth season with the production of The Wizard of Oz. Directed by Ernie Gilbert, the show features a beloved cast of characters such as Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tinman, Cowardly Lion, and of course, witches both good and bad. Craig Kupka conducts a full orchestra comprised of both professional and student musicians; a talented vocal ensemble led by Jon Howie and dazzling choreography by Myra Santini round-out the show.

The Stepping Stone Players - “Community Theatre at its Best” - has been wowing audiences with professional-quality productions since 2000. The troupe received the prestigious Diamond Award from the City of Glendale for achievement in the arts in 2009. All productions, in the historic Hoover High Theatre, bring together industry professionals, beginners and everyone in-between, working to bring the magic of theatre to our community.

The Wizard of Oz opens Friday, September 11th and runs through September 27th with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2:00 p.m. Matinees on Sunday September 20th and 27th offer American Sign Language interpreters.
